The project can be made on a 600 x 900 mm (2 x 3 ft) CNC router and bigger.

 

*The files are adjusted to fit both metric and imperial standards for materials and tools

 

*For powering the go-kart prototype we used the “DeWALT DCF899P2” drill - when using a different power drill the go-kart's performance can be affected. Some design modifications might be needed to suit your cordless drill.

Required materials

  • 1 sheet of 400 x 900 x 12 mm (16 x 36 x 1/2 inches) plywood
  • 1 sheet of 600 x 1220 x 12 mm (24 x 48 x 1/2 inches) plywood
  • 1 sheet of 400 x 900 x 15 mm (16 x 36 x 5/8 inches) plywood
  • 3 mm (1/8 inch) router bit
  • M10 threaded rod - 1 meter (3 ft)
  • M10 locknuts - 10 pieces
  • M10 long nuts (30 mm long) - 12 pieces
  • M10 flange nuts - 4 pieces
  • M8 x 30 mm screws - 72 pieces (for the wheel mold)
  • M8 nuts - 72 pieces (for the wheel mold)
  • Rubber Sealant (We used Bostik MSP 107 seal) - 6 tubes
  • M8 x 50 mm screw
  • M8 flat washers - 4 pieces
  • Rubber bands (or extension spring) for the brakes
  • String - for pedal mechanism
  • Ball Bearings - 26 mm (outside diam.) x 10 mm (inside diam.) x 8 mm (thickness) - 10 pieces
  • Ball Bearings - 65 mm (outside diam.) x 50 mm (inside diam.) x 7 mm (thickness) - 2 pieces
  • 60 wood screws 25 mm (1 inch)

- 4 sheets of 600 x 900 x 9 mm (24 x 36 x 3/8 inches) plywood
- 2 sheets of 500 x 800 x 9 mm (20 x 32 x 3/8 inches) plywood
For a 820 x 1200 mm (2.6 x 4 ft) CNC
- 3 sheets of 1200 x 820 x 9 mm (48 x 32 x 3/8 inches) plywood
For a 900 x 1200 mm (3 x 4 ft) CNC
- 2 sheets of 1200 x 900 x 9 mm (48 x 36 x 3/8 inches) plywood
- 1 sheet of 1200 x 400 x 9 mm (48 x 16 x 3/8 inches) plywood
